Ideas applied to the research of new technological possibilities can open brilliant product opportunities, this stool is a great example.

The Plopp stool designed by Oskar Zieta for Hay is a surprising piece of furniture. Don't let the soft rounded forms fool you; this stool is made of hydro-formed metal. Two metal sheets are welded together and then filled with high-pressure fluid, not sure how comfortable it is but the designer surely succeeded in experimenting with low cost materials and technologies for an innovative result.

  • Interview: Eugeni Quitllet
When we first saw his name close to that of Philippe Starck we googled, with no luck. But shortly after all this revealed to be a product of our unquiet imagination: he is for real, thank goodness.
