Defying known fabric capabilities Marcel Wanders created an unconventional coffee table for Moooi, made of grandma's favourite pastime: cotton crochet.

Wanders experiments with hand crocheted cotton, which is soaked in epoxy resin and cured over the mold, turning the traditional table cover into the table itself.
The result is lightweight, unconventional and expressive.

love this one. MW used to have a less superficial approach to design, he's been showing off himself too much lately i guess ...

well, the guy is printing his own face with a clown nose on every possible surface ... that says it all!
